3D pinwheel tutorial
3D pinwheel. This is a very easy pattern.
You need (4) 6 1/2" x 3 1/2" rectangles and (4) 6 1/2" squares of contrasting fabric.
On 6 1/2 x 3 1/2" rectangles, fold down 1/4" along
6 1/2" side. Press. Then fold both 3 1/2" sides to center, forming a point and triangle. Now you should have the pressed seam in the center with raw edges on the bottom of the triangle. Press from point.
Place folded triangle, right side up, on edge of 6 1/2" square (right side up). Match raw edges to a point. Pin. Repeat with the other 3 blocks. Lay blocks out in pinwheel. Match center. Sew 1/4" seam. Press seam. Repeat with the other 2 blocks Press seam in opposite direction. Match centers and sew seam. Press. Tack points of pinwheel.
