I had posted a quilt made with these four patches. Some ladies wanted to know what size I started with. I used 5" charms for a different way to make 4 patches.
So, hopefully you will understand my pics... :D
Step 1 - Sew 2- 5" squares right sides together on each side.
Step 2- Cut result in half between two seams at 2. 5 inches
Step 3 - you will end up with two pieces 5" by 2.5"

Step one - sew both sides

Step two- cut result in half

Step three - you will get this

Step 4 - Iron the result - seams to one side
Step 5 - Put the two pieces together nesting seams - sew on both sides of block - your other seam should be horizontal.
Step 6- Cut this piece into half - just like you did the first time.

Step 5 - sew on both sides again

Step 6 - cut into 2.5 sections

Step 7 - this is what you get
Final - iron open and you end up with 2 - four patches.
This is easier than it seems especially when you chain piece.
I did each side seams one at a time. took the chain out and did the other side still attached.

Any questions just ask .. first tute.....

Wow, thanks a million! This is so cool as I am a beginner and just overwhelmed with trying to figure out where to start!

Awesome, I hope you make more tutorials for us in the future, job well done. Also do you have a video recorder if so you could do videos on you tube!!!!

Thanks again and have a great day and pat yourself on the back for a cool tutorial.
