I have read that a few of you tried to add a zipper to the bow tucks. I did too, and thought I would share my technique. It is not perfect. Just before the step to sew the two inside pieces together, I added in my zipper. I sew a folded piece to each side of the zipper with the raw edges to the zipper.

Repeat for other side.

Did I mention that I am on dial up. This is taking forever.

Once I had my bows attached, I tucked the zipper ends down and stitched across them from the inside to keep them out of the way.

I cut my zipper connectors too wide. I think cutting them 3" and folding them in half, right sides together and sew the ends, then flipping open and attaching to the zipper would work better.

Tuck inside out of way.

Thanks for the tutorial. Getting ready to make my fifth bow tuck and wanted to try a zipper. I think you did a great job on your tutorial.

Wow, that's great. I like the look of the bag but have not tried it because I really like a zipper in my bags that I use when I travel. It helps a lot when the bag goes through the x ray machine at airports. Thank you so much for the info and the great tute.
