The blocks look best done with 5" or smaller squares. It makes a darling baby quilt. They are as addictive to make as yo yo's.

Here's a picture of the block pressed flat. Mom makes baby quilts with them too...the last one was for a little boy and she use a variety of blue '30's reproduction conversationals. It was darling.

Thank you so much! I was there and wrote some instructions, but lost them for about a year. I searched everywhere on the Internet but did not find instructions for this type of Bowie block. When I did find my instructions it took a while to understand them. It is so nice to have the instructions and pictures. Thank your Mom for being so nice to us for demonstrating so many times.

The YoYo ladies made these all week teaching folks how to make them. They handed out hundreds of the printed instructions.
