When pieced borders are created, sometimes they don’t fit perfectly around the quilt top, and extra strips are
needed between the quilt top and the borders. These are
    called coping strips.
This tutorial shows how to calculate the size of the strips that need to be cut. I hope it's clear--it's the first tutorial I've ever even thought about posting. I also hope it will be useful to someone besides me--I've needed to do this calculation several times, so I finally decided to write equations for it.

I'm interested, but I'm on dial up internet service. It would take me a whole day to download 16.1MB! I'll have to check this out the next time I'm at our local library. Their service is lots quicker!

    Thanks for the tute!

Thanks for trying. I get some message that is not compatible with my computer. I'm headed to the library tomorrow, so I'll look at it then.

Probably because I saved it in a newer version of MS Word. Try downloading it from this message now--I put it in an older version of Word.

I would really like to learn this information but I can't open the file. I can only save it. This is probably because I don't have the MicroSoft Office program installed. New computers don't come with Microsoft installed so you have to buy it for over $100.00.
