A tutorial on making continuous scrappy prairie points.

Cut 4 1/2" squares. Press first square in half to mark the halfway point. Open back up. Lay this one face down and add the second square WRONG SIDES TOGETHER on top of the first one starting at the halfway mark. Stitch just enough to get it tacked down. Butt the next square up to the first one and continue sewing. Keep adding squares until you have the desired length. Remember fabric on the bottom will be face down and the fabric on top will be face up.

Now for the folding.

Now fold from the top left to the bottom right to form a triangle.

The bottom ones are folded just the opposite: bottom right to top left.

Fold the top square from the top right to the bottom left just to the stitching line. I actually did these on the ironing board so I could press them as I folded each one.

Then fold bottom left to top right

Fold them all so they're facing the same direction.

Continue folding until all the prairie points are folded.

Open up the prairie point and wrap it around the one in front of it so they're nesting together.

Thanks so much for this tute. I have seen the continuous prairie points and wondered how you would do scrappy? You learn something on here everyday  Thanks again.

Thank you for sharing your tute. I've never tried prairie points, they seemed too hard. You make it "look" easy. Probably not as easy as you make it look! :D :D

It was extremely easy -- except for remembering to sew things wrong sides together. My mind just doesn't understand that concept too well.
