Excellent tutorial, Michael. I have been using Gimp for several years, including the Linux and Windows versions, for editing photos. It never occurred to me to use it for designing quilts. You have given me some excellent new ideas!![]()

Perhaps you all know this page but I found it very interesting. You can very easily design your pieces with this pattern maker from Victoria and Albert Museum:
