I have used a free program called GIMP for many years to edit photos. It's a lot like Photoshop, however I recently discovered I could use it to design quilts, and also use the fabric swatches from the manufacturer's site to test my quilt layout.

I thought I would create a tutorial to help others who might be interested in doing this, but didn't want to spend the money on Quilt Design Software.

Anyway please feel free to try this out and see if my instruction make sense. :) And also let me know any changes, errors or instructions that might be unclear.

ENJOY!
I have looked at GIMP before but thought it looked hard to master...will have to take a second and third look.
