At this point I do pin together. Place a pin where the joining strips are matched to the other rows strip. I also put a pin between the joining strips. Be sure to check the placement of your blocks as you go and make sure your blocks match correctly before you add a whole row to the others.

Thanks for the great tutorial..I have made string squares quilts but never seen one like this....I will enjoy making and sharing this method with friends.

Thank you for giving us this tutorial. It is so clear and easy to understand. I have always wanted to do a "quilt as you go" quilt, and this tutorial has motivated me to finally make one. I made one of these strip quilt tops a couple of years ago, and had it quilted by a long arm quilter. She did a great job on it, but of course it was a bit expensive. With a QAYG, when it's done, it's done, and I like that. Thanks again for posting this easy to follow tutorial
