The first problem is that the pattern prints out too small. It is 6" with the seam allowances, and should be 6" without the seam allowances. So the first file is a pdf with the correct sizes.
The second problem is that the cutting directions are for the undersized block. The will work, but it is tight. So, Colour 1 - cut 1 - 6 1/2" square - Cut 4 - 4 3/4" squares, cut in half diagonally. Colour 2 - cut 4 - 3 1/4" squares. Background - Cut 4 - 3 1/2" squares - Cut 2 - 5 1/2" squares, cut diagonally twice.

I have downloaded the PP pattern you give, and it prints out at 5 3/4 x 2 3/4. How can I get the accurate 6x3 pattern?

OOOPS! I forgot to set the "no scale" setting. I have copied the correct size now.

Make sure your page scaling is set to "none". I printed it out last night and it printed perfectly.

When you go to print the PDF, you will have a percentage showing of 100 (I work on a Mac so I'm not sure what PCs have). Just slightly increase the percentage... try 110 percent and print. Measure printout and if it is still too small, increase the percentage a little more until what prints out is the size you want it to be.

What does the finished star look like? How many of these units does it take to make the double star?

When I was making a civil war quilt, I changed paper. Andthe new paper (known brand) printed all my blocks 1/4 to 1/2 inches larger. After talking to EQ and others, I discovered it was the paper. I bought a differnet brand and it worked fine. The paper looked the same as the other but just worked better in my printer.
