Your Angels quilt looks lovely, too! Glad you are coming down to play with me again and we can do me one! (the hanger, not the quilt!)

how does it feel to have all that floor space freed up now? This is a brilliant idea.

Thank you so much for sharing such a wonderful idea! This is exactly what I need for my new quilting studio. I was going to install something much more complicated to get an easily removable design wall. DH will be happy also :-)

I went to the website to check out the safety precautions. There's a TON of them. I'd strongly suggest that everyone reads them before deciding to order. That said, the design wall system, once it's up, probably stays up so well and for so long that many of the hazards would be non-issues. I'm just a safety freak, that's all.

I think I am visualizing the general concept, but cant find the metal strip at my local big box hardware store...is there a name for this strip? Or can you tell us which department it might be found in?

Usually the magnets you need to be careful of are the ones that are right next to the machine or attaching any. You can check your magnet and or your manual. I have magnets but don't have them attached to my machines and they are not computerized like most but still not taking chances. You can easily test the force of a magnet with a piece of metal. Usually you can feel the force. A small baking or any pen small screwdriver.

I would either have to use the wall behind the sewing machine (or next to it) or just opposite it (I would have to figure out furniture arrangement). Would hate to mess up the computer on my sewing machine!! But love this idea, have been pondering how to do a design wall without having boards to move around or huge hooks or nails in the wall.
