I've used this technique for several quilt tops. I've carefully planned the layout of the strips on a couple, and just put them on wherever they fall on others. Every one of them has worked out great! I made one change, though: I begin with 18" squares. The slight increase seems to make a difference when I put the blocks together. Sorry I'm not able to put any pictures on.

Thanks for another take on this very intriguing technique.

Carslo, Thanks so much for sharing your pictures and taking the time to write up and post a tute. I think I just may have enough scraps to make a quilt, lol, after a few years of collecting scraps. Have a few projects ahead of this, but plan to make a Magic Crazy Patch quilt. Thanks so much for your time and effort and sharing. Gerbie

**You are right the orginial instruction calls for 18 inches but I found that most of my scraps aren't that in length. I actually did a Christmas Tree quilt once with 6 inch planned strips and it is beautiful.

I am making a lsp quilt with strips.
Just used 2 long strips and a slash in the middle.

I found that same pattern by another name a year ago. It called for cutting all the strips in different widths or just using up scraps. I made this quilt for my DIL last year for Christmas. If I can figure how to, I will post a picture.
