Very clever! I love the suggestion about dabbing the tip with fray check just before sewing it.

I don't do a lot of hand applique and I still found your tutorial to be very helpful. Thanks for doing it!

Thank you for the tips. I do a lot of needle turn applique. Have tried the starch method...a lot of prep time, but, wow, you can get alot done faster in the long run. Printed out your tips for my TIPS notebook. Thanks again. You did a great job

Glad to help DaisyDebbie (My middle name is Daisy!) It sure helped me, too. Its all due to the template plastic. No need to pin or anything! Think I'll try inside curves next!

Well, actually, you could do us one more favor. Would you mind reposting just a copy of the plastic swirl that you made? The end is cut off in your tutorial. I'm also doing the DJ....but, mostly doing the triangles right now. I somehow got out of the loop on this board's challenge. Need to find it. I started and found the dearjanelist....but haven't done her block of the week challenges (just triangle of week) as I'll get them completely done in one year.
Again, your tip is one of the MOST ingenious I've ever seen Love love love it!!!
Debby is my 1st name, I just love daises so I added it for my sign in name. It's a cool name...have never known anyone (but, now you) that has that name....even if it is your middle name

Hey, Daisy. The tutorial does have the drawing of the template, and the one I used is that made of plastic. I have a small box of such templates that I've used in quilting various tops and I just found that one as I was going through!

Your can easily make your own. I did another "tear drop" shape but you could just make something like the attached:

or use your imagination! Just draw various curves from tight to loose and find a way to join them into one shape! Now I'm going to work on an inside curve one!

Nice tute. You made it look so easy. Maybe a beginner like me can do a DJ someday.
