Jade, great tutorial and fantastic idea! I really like the smaller block size. I need a 12 inch finished block for a project, so I plan to put borders around it to get it to the desired size.

Later I plan to make a quilt. All those blocks put together are absolutely stunning!

Great work! Thanks for sharing!

I am designing a quilt with a large but busy border. I see that I can use this technique as the center of the quilt. I plan to place several (6, 9 or 12 blocks) sitiched together in the center of the quilt. Then I feel that the surrounding area needs to be simplified using pinwheels on one color before placing the busy border on the quilt.
Thanks for the lesson. You may have just saved my quilt.

don't you just love the "disappearing" blocks? They can fool even the most experienced quilter into thinking you cut a whole bunch of little pieces and are an excellent piecer with all seams matching!

I thought it was cool the way you cut and pieced the first go around but when I looked further it got even better!! Just wondering though - I am a very visual person do you think you could show me pic of say four of the blocks put together so I can see how you did that thanks cheryl :-D
You may be able to tell - I am fairly new at this and need all the help I can get

My avatar shows 4 blocks together! I did 8 blocks and switched them up a bit to get the pinwheel in the center that way I had two tabletoppers, one to keep and one to give.
