amazing work. I too also hand piece and hand quilt my pieces. To mark darker fabrics one can use Conte pencils in the art department of michaels or Aron brothers. these are soft pencils you can hand sharpen and come in a wide variety of colors. Like a pastel marker and easily brush off or dampen with a cloth.

Andrea, thank you for sharing your technique and your fabulous skills with us... You have inspired me (again) to keep on hand quilting. I am, like so many others, in absolute awe of your work. Mine will never look like that, but that's ok!! I LOVE handquilting and I can't imagine that you love it more than I do :-D ...
I'm fairly certain I speak for many of us when I ask you to keep posting pictures of your wonderful quilts!

ps.... I've only completed two (and a half) doll-size practice pieces and I'm getting a pretty decent callous on my "pushing" finger... not complaining mind you, just observing... Do I need to adjust my technique??

Awesome work. I love the way you seem to just flow with the stitches.

Wow, I would love to have that precise stitching talent you have. Amazing work. I do hand embroidery and I do find that very relaxing. Thanks for sharing these photos.

Thank you so much. I will give it a try. And I definitely was interested. I printed out the pictures. Again thank you.

Yes, I use a darning needle for that. Here are some pictures if you are interested:

That is amazing, tried to handquilt one time, didn't work too well, plan on trying it again one day.
