Americana Primitive Raggedy Flag Pillow - Sew it in less than an hour!
3 Attachment(s)
It's not too late to make this adorable primitive raggedy American flag pillow. It is made just like a raggedy quilt is made. I gave mine to my mom who has her family den set up in Americana crafts. Now I'm making one for myself! I love this primitive project b/c you just rip fabric strips and then sew them onto the beige background to create a flag.
1. You will need: -2 cream pieces of fabric ripped to the size 14" x 18" for the pillow front and back -1 piece of blue fabric ripped to the size 9.5" x 6.5" -3 strips of red fabric ripped to the size 10" x 1.5" -3 strips of red fabric ripped to the size 18" x 1.5" -craft stuffing -basic sewing supplies 2. Pin all the red strips pretty side up on one of the pretty sides of the beige pieces of fabric. This will be the pillow front. Sew down each side of the long ends of each strip using the pressure foot as your guide. 3. Pin the blue rectangle fabric on the top left and sew around it. 4. Pin the pillow top to the pillow back pretty sides out. Sew around the edges and leave a 4" opening. Stuff the pillow and stitch up the opening. It's that easy!!! The more it is ripped and frayed the better it looks b/c you are trying to create a primitive look! If it's not primitive enough for you tea/coffee stain it when you are done, or rub cinnamon on it. It will look old and smell nice! Enjoy and Happy 4th of July! |

Beautiful and easy, thank you for sharing

I like this flag, thank you for sharing. I think would be nice to make a few and instead of pillows make a banner to hang outside along porch rail, fence rail, whatever. I like that it is easy and quick to make.
