I recently posted pictures of a quilt I came up with for my grandson, and Mucky asked if I could post the design. So, here's my attempt. It won't be a full tutorial, but hopefully will give you enough info to try this if you want. Here's a link to the topic with the pictures: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-116849-1.htm

The design is shown in the first picture below. I did this in EQ7, and just put the same picture of the panda bears in each of the 8 "houses" in the quilt, but in reality, I had 8 different pictures from a fabric panel. The second picture shows the 6 blocks that make up the design. The blocks are 9 1/2 inches (9 inches finished).

According to EQ7, you need the following amounts of fabric. I don't really know if this is accurate or not. Usually, the EQ7 estimates are very generous:

black: 2 5/8 yd
orange: 1 3/4 yd
fussy cut blocks (8 of them)
solid green: 1 5/8 yd
green print: 2 yds

I made the blocks by cutting strip sets WOF with the following sizes:
black: 2"
solid green: 2 1/2"
orange: 2"
green print: 3"
black: 2"

when you sew the strips together, you end up with 9 1/2" x 40 long strips. From these, you need to make the blocks shown in the second picture:

21 solid green corners
21 green print corners
20 straight pieces
4 path thru solid green
4 path thru green print

And you need:
8 fussy cut squares with path
1 start and 1 end (I used a partial corner and the black, with a stripe for a "start" and "finish" line.)

When you cut the strip sets for the corners, square off the end of the set, then on the bottom, come in 3/8" from the end and cut at a 45 degree angle to the other side. Then on the top, go 3/8" from where you finished, and cut perpendicularly to the bottom. If you do this twice, then you have 4 pieces, from which you can create 1 of each of the corners. Another way to do this would be to cut 9 3/4 inches off the strip set, then cut it diagonally, starting 3/8" from each end.

As I created the strip sets, I pressed all seams open, since pressing to one side or the other would never lock together when assembling the blocks.
