Fall Fabric Scraps + Little Time = Cute Pumpkin Pin or Candle Ring

6 Attachment(s)
I was thinking the other day what tiny little project could I made with my fall fabric scraps. I was also burning my favorite candle at the time, (yankee candle autumn leaves scent) and this is what I came up with!
Enjoy!
1. Using pinking shears cut out 2 circles about 4" with a flat bottom for front and back of pumpkin.
2. Cut out 1 from quilt batting and trim around the quilt batting another 1/4" so that it is smaller than the fabric pumpkin pieces.
3. Sandwich the quilt batting between the 2 pumpkin pieces.
4. Make a stem in the same manner from green fabric.
5. Pin the stem to the top of the pumpkin. Stitch around the outside of the pumpkin and stem 1/4".
6. Using pinking shears cut out 3 straight moon shaped pieces from a different orange fabric. Pin in place and stitch down center through all layers.
7. Place little pieces of raffia, and hand-sew a button catching the raffia and all 3 layers of fabric.

YOUR CUTE LITTLE PUMPKIN IS DONE!
Now, you can turn it into a magnet, lapel pin, Autumn ornament, or a fabric candle ring!

To turn it into a candle ring, measure around the candle jar and cut the elastic. If you are using a large Yankee Candle jar like I did, I cut my elastic 12.5". Overlap the elastic by 1". Pin. Stitch in place. Attach the elastic to the back of the pumpkin and stitch in place.

Have fun!

Really cute! I like that they are low enough on the front to be safely away from the flame.
