Ok back ta the star.

I did the TX first so i could see where ta put the star. I did it the same way as I'm gonna show Ya how ta do the star.

At this point ya can top stitch, buttonhole stitch, or any decorative stitch ya have. I chose satin stitch. Not such a good idea through all o' that thickness! I should have top stitched.

I like the way you made this potholder. I can see how this would look terrific also using a QAYG block quilt. Making the front and the back of each block. Can this technique only be used with satin stitch or is the same effect achieved using the blanket or other design stitch?? Thank you so much for taking the time to show step by step how you used the glue to tack everything in place? :thumbup: I had wondered about this technique. Spray basting smaller pieces for applique always seemed so messy. I can see where this would be a better way to tack down smaller applique pieces that are two awkward for pinning or such. Great Job. Oh yeah. Ya can use any stitch that ya want. I used the satin stitch 'cause I wanted that look on the front. This is a good technique for quilts. The satin stitch was very hard goin' through 2 washrags & 5 layers if fabric. Lookin' back I should have top stitched it. It would have looked so much better!!! As it is the satin stitch looks sloppy. Actually when I was thinkin' about this potholder I was thinkin' about usin' the MM method, but I told someone that I would do a tute for this method.
