WOW I have never seen it done that way and it cures the problem with having bias edges. I will definitely bookmark this. Thanks

i just tried this-- works great. good thing i used scrap fabric since i forgot to add the seam allowance--oops! but it will be wonderful for a scrappy i want to make, and now, hurrah, i have 8hst's made! woohoo!! seriously, with the right numbers this method is painless! how does it affect your yardage? it seems you are taking large squares instead of strips, so do you end up using more actual length of fabric? math was never my strong point, but i was great at recess and lunch. 8-)

HST are easy
 
I have seen this done many times to make multipule HST. Eleanore Burns has a couple technech's that making HST and making flying geese a breeze!

I recently showed this in my quilting class and they loved it! Even though many had been quilting for years, some of them had never seen it. Thanks for sharing it for those that have never seen it. I use it often and love it!!
