Unable to send the entire message!I try it later ..

Enci, sorry you were having difficulties with completing your tutorial. Hope it works for you later.

I wondered about using spray baste product to adhere the tissue to the top of your fabric sandwich? My thinking is that once you are done, it could be run under water to remove the spray baste and it would also dissolve the tissue paper.

Thank you. :D

fran624 08-16-2011 04:54 AM

abdconsultant 08-16-2011 04:55 AM

I have purchased some books and card stock and working on some ideas. Thats what i love about this board, great ideas and techniques to explore. I watch your topics to keep up with what your doing with Zentangle. This would make a great swap, maybe i need to pm Patrice.

threadsdmr 08-16-2011 05:06 AM

There is a video on this blog site. Susanne McNeill is a very good quilter and does zentangles too.

Meant to say that your tut is great and I love the drawing. Have been playing with this for some weeks now and am totally obsessed

pjnesler 08-16-2011 05:18 AM

A future swap would be interesting.

I watch both your topics and tothenci's topics to keep up with what you two are doing with art in quilts. LOL

Butterflyblue 08-16-2011 06:46 AM

Very cool. I wonder what it would look like over a crazy patched background?

vivoaks 08-16-2011 07:11 AM

Pretty!!

azam 08-16-2011 07:30 AM

I think faster than I type too, so I always take a moment before I hit send to read it, and make corrections. Thank you to who ever invented spell check! I have some periwinkle satin that I hope to try this with. Yours is beautiful.

Grambi 08-16-2011 08:08 PM

Very pretty. Thanks for the tutorial. I've been wanting to try this.

jpthequilter 08-17-2011 02:52 AM

It is the process of thinking that you use to make a zentangle that is so interesting!
The photo of one made of black and white prints stitched together to make a zentangle is stunning.
but, if you use colored prints to do the same thing -
surprise - You will end up with a familiar crazypatch!

I had seen the subject and pix Zentangle but had no idea what or how to make one. I think Sue MacNeil(10 minute quilt block) has some books on this. Thanks sew much.

gramquilter2 08-17-2011 06:53 AM

tothenci, I love your pink, black on white zentangle

jpthequilter 08-17-2011 07:07 AM

Yes, you are right! tothenci!
You got me! LOL, but if every section of that same zentangle
was a different color and/or print.... it would be a crazy patch.
By the way, I just love zentangles too!
and I am so glad that you showed me and all of us about zentangles!
And special thanks for showing todays demo!
Jeannie

BECOOLWRAPS 08-17-2011 03:07 PM

tothenci 08-18-2011 02:47 AM

I saw your book and set the catalog to order. Well now I have to get my act in gear. I saw the video a few minutes ago. Way too fun.

cheri stonespinner 08-21-2011 06:12 PM

You did a fine job sending this message! I'm intreaged with zentangle. I used to doodle in elementry school something similar to this. You've made it more elegant with quilting

djvaug 09-17-2011 04:15 AM

Now I want to stitchtangle!

Annieflower 11-14-2012 05:18 PM

This is a great way to use Zentangle. I just heard about it and it looks like fun. I love to doodle and what a better way to do it than by machine. Thank you for sharing! :o

I don't do the zen tangles but find the books great for free motion inspiration for small quilt areas. There is also a method using straight lines in different directions and shapes I used this with children at school doing landscape pictures. I wonder if this was the beginning of tangles?
