I am going to give a Tutorial on this and there are 12 steps, please bear with me whilst I post all of these. Here is a picture of the bag first, then I will begin.

These can be used to hang in up to hold your makeup, cotton wool balls, or in the wardrobe with moth repellers in

You will need 5 x 12" squares of fabric, use different colours
Sewing machine
Ruler
Spray bottle of water
50" of 1 1/4" binding to match your bag
Beads from seed to larger pieces

With your 5 squares cut out place 4 right side up and one on the back wrong side up. This one will be the inside of your bag, the lining.

On the top fabric which will be the outside of your bag pin all the fabrics together to hold them firmly.
Mark with a pencil which will show on your fabric 1/4" lines.
Start in the middle and work towards the corners

Completely cover your material, or if you want to, which is what I did, use your 1/4" foot as a guide to stitch with.

Now stitch all the lines starting in the middle and working outwards. This is the boaring part-

Using a pair of small sharp scissors , and with your outside fabric showing, cut between the lines, DO NOT CUT YOUR LINING FABRIC, so you are cutting 4 fabrics okay

When they are all cut, don´t ruffle just yet.

Next you have to square up your fabric to 11 1/2" square.

Using your Binding fabric and starting on the outside of your fabric, pin your binding on all the way around, Mitre your corners as you go. If you don´t know how to mitre I will show you.
Pin your fabric right to your first corner, now place a pin diagonaly from the corner till it points to the centre of your square. Take your binding upwards so that it forms a triangle and then pin it all the way down the other side. It will form a square at the top.

Machine using a 1/4" hem all around. Now press your binding , don´t press the bag.

Turn your binding over and hand stitch all the way around, your mitre corners need to be pushed into place and stitched down too

Fold your bag like this. With your lining upper most. Bring your first corner upwards and the two side panels to meet in the middle like the photograph.

Hand stitch in place and turn inside out

With your spray bottle, spray your bag with water and rub your fabric together figourously for 2 or three minutes until your fabrics start to show underneath. This may take longer depending on the fabrics you have used.

Now place a piece of ribbon as a loop to hang your bag up.

Its bead time. Find some really pretty beads to finish off your bag. Stitch securely in place. Stitch down the side of your bag with tiny seed beads as shown.

Your finished. woo hoo. Can be made in around 4 hours.

Without the beads you ca use your bag as a pretty make up bag
