Pieced hearts for Valentines day

2 Attachment(s)
A Valentine block for you. Not sure why it doesn't just open the document here. I assure you it's safe, LOL! Jan in VA

[NOTE: The .doc file is a Word document. It might not work for everybody. I added a version converted to .pdf, which should work for everybody who has Adobe Acrobat Reader installed.]

I've got all kinds of word programs, but they won't open this. Any help? what did you use?

happyred10 01-23-2012 04:44 AM

I couldn't open it either.

SueDor 01-23-2012 04:49 AM

Thanks!!!!

dusty222 01-23-2012 05:17 AM

I was able to open this in wordperfect. It appears to be a Microsoft Word file and wordperfect is able to convert it and print it out. Thanks Jan. I love all heart patterns and this one looks easy to make. Oh, by the way Jan, thanks for helping my granddaughter out a few days ago.

cozy4quilts 01-23-2012 05:25 AM

Thanks for the great pattern. Printed it off & there is time to get some done before Valentine's Day too!!

jennyb 01-23-2012 05:35 AM

Thank You for the pattern. I did print it and it's great.

Aurora 01-23-2012 07:10 AM

I had no problem opening it. It opened as a Word97 - 2003.doc

southernmema 01-23-2012 07:21 AM

Thank you....darling hearts...am going to use with yo-yo flowers in a Valentine wall hanging.

janeknapp 01-23-2012 10:41 AM

If you can turn it into a jpeg format and post, it should be open in this topic.

oh munner 01-23-2012 11:19 AM

Sure would like to see the hearts, but I can't open the file.

I don't have Microsoft Word on my computer, so here's what I had to do to look at and save this: Right click on Jan's word doc line. In the box that comes up, click on "Save Target As". Choose the location on your computer that you want this to go to. In the "Save File As" line, I used the name that came up (Jan's file name) and then added .sxw, which is the extension used by my word processing program, which is Open Office. It worked for me!

Jan must have been posting her .pdf file while I was posting the above. Thanks, Jan!:o

I couldn't open this

nancia 01-24-2012 04:19 AM

it looks great. thanks! i do have a question. did you mix up the numbers on the last block? shouldn't the inside snowball be 2.75" and the outsie 2.25 ( or whatever, sorry can't remember exactly). i ask because you said it looked better if the inside was smaller than the outside, but the numbers were reversed. perhaps i read it wrong.

nellie 01-24-2012 03:27 PM

thank you Jan i was able to open it with your second post

nancia 01-24-2012 06:25 PM

ok-- i meant inside 1.75" and outside 2.25" the arrows are pointing the opposite way i think. the pdf is MUCH easier to access! thanks!!
