I was working (playing) with a protractor and compass to see if what was in my mind would translate to paper.

Some of it did - some of it did not.

The attached drawings are my musings transferred to paper.

Your drawings remind me of Michelangelo's sketchings!! I don't do complicated triangle designs but I admire the way your mind works!!!

Wow! Now you just have to get these ideas into a quilt. I am not a math wiz but love playing with protractors and french curves. Looks like fun.

I know what a compass is & I know what a protractor is. I never took geometry. Your designs are exquisite & would love to see them in fabric. I like paper piecing & wonder if they are adaptable to that technique. Just for grins, "L" is my favorite. I'm guessing it is the completed design. Tks for sharing your abilities & skills. Kathy

They might be adaptable to paper piecing - I think if one used the techniques that Jinny Beyer used for the blocks in her Moonglow pattern, it would be doable.

I am quite sure that English Paper Piecing would work - for the diamond pieces, anyway.

I was just watching the progression - as more diamonds are added, the points extend further - but they will never quite touch the second circle (which has double the radius of the first circle).

I love your way of thinking! I could use this to make some round place mats for my mother. She has been reminding me of how she would like a set for her home in Florida. What a wonderful Christmas gift it would make. Here I go again putting off my quilt for my bed. LOL

Very cool. I use my compass for making circles and fans the size I want and my compass. As you've proven so many designs can come of it.
