I am so getting smart about all this quilting business! I got the tut on the first try without a visual. Woot Woot to me cause I'm sure I am going to mess something up big time next project!

I got an insperation while thinking about this quilt. Was recently given spools of thread --so I thought of a way to use them. Everytime I have to sew around the square look for a similar color in these spools. A sure way to use up the smaller spools but not pay a fortune to sew a satin stitch around. It's early for explanations but do you agree? Why just use up my white ?

HI NOELLA, PRETTY NAME! COULD YOU PLEASE TELL US WHERE TO GET THE PATTERN FOR THAT LOVELY VINTAGE QUILT. i AM NOT GOOD AT FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS THAT YOU PUT ON THE SIGHT. FOR INSTANCE, WHERE DOES THE GRID COME FROM? IS IT PRE PRINTED FABRIC Or dO YOU MAKE IT FROM MUSLIN? i APPRECIATE ANY INFO YOU CAN GIVE ME. THANKS, peterparley

Noella, I'm back again and soooooo soon. I just read your instructions again and understand them a little better. How do you adhere the squares? Do you stitch them? that's the part I don't understand/ Thanks again, peterparley

NOELLA 08-20-2011 07:22 AM

I had to draw the grid myself on the muslin, that is why you will have to wash the quilt when you have completed it.

NOELLA 08-20-2011 07:39 AM

the sq's are stitched one row at a time after you can glue each of them to the muslin .When you have completed all 196 of them you will have each sg. stitch on all 4 sides You will have finished you quiltiing now you are ready to put your binding on and wash { you may use any school glue stick I pinned mine on worked fine for me. hope this is more clearer}
by the way remember to quilt from one side to the other making a continuous quilting line.
hope this is much more clearer for you all GOOD LUCK!!!!
Noella

Peter you can use school glue or as I did I pinned each sq.
Thanks Noella.
