Hi Everyone! Those of us doing the 9P project for the summer have been looking at ways to use our finished blocks. Here is the first Table Topper I have come up with. It is quick to do and uses 1 1/2" and 2 1/2" strips which are sizes most of us save as scraps. The only other fabric dimensions in it are four 3 1/2" squares. You could stop at several points depending on the size you want. So here is how you put it together-

1. Make 13 9P blocks. Be sure to square your blocks.

2. Make 3-4 "strip sets". These are 1 1/2" strips by WOF. You will cut these into twelve 3 1/2" blocks and four 3 1/2" x 19 1/2" strips.

3. Cut two 2 1/2" x 15 1/2" strips and two 2 1/2" x 19 1/2" strips of the same fabric. Also of the same fabric cut four 3 1/2" blocks.

This is what you should have.

Sew rows together. I found it easiest to place the far left block of a row on top of the second block and those on top of the third and so on to keep the order.

Sew the rows together.

Now you have the center.

Square the center.

At this point your topper is 15 1/2" x 15 1/2". You could stop here and quilt and bind it or go on.

Center all sewn

Take the two 2 1/2" x 15 1/2" strips and sew to the sides of the center you just completed. Then sew the two 2 1/2" x 19 1/2" strips to the top and bottom.

You now have this.

The top is now 19 1/2" x 19 1/2", you could stop and quilt and bind at this point or go on.

You are almost done.
Take the 4 remainin 9P blocks and two of the 19 1/2" "strip set" strips. Sew one 9 P block to each end of these strips and set aside.

Sew the remaining two "strip set" strips to the sides of your topper.

Sew the 9P/"strip set" strips to the top and bottom.

The finished size is 25 1/2" x 25 1/2".

Congrats! You have a finished table topper or wall hanging top.
Quilt and bind and you are finished. :-)

You are welcome! :-) If you have any problems with it or questions let me know I will try and help. I had no problem at all with it going right together.
