Thank you Sewbizgirl sew very much for your clear photo tutorial!

I have blocks of the month from 2010. ( the first year I joined a guild and learned how to quilt.) I also have Christmas exchange blocks from that year until present. I think adding the sashing to join the blocks will unify the variety of colors and patterns in both sets of blocks. Your tute is a great resource to get these blocks out of hiding!

Thanks kiffie... that is a Boom quilt, the blocks being made by others in the last Boomerang swap on the board. I made about half a dozen of the blocks myself and the rest were made by QB boom swappers, out of my fabric. They all did such a great job with the blocks.

yeah they did......it is beautiful. You give them the fabric and just let them go for it or do you tell them the pattern also?

You give them a piece of your fabric and also a note with preferences on what to use with it (such as "match colors in the print" or "no white or black, please"). You can't tell them what pattern to use. That is up to the 'maker'. They just have to be sure the block is 12.5" square before they send it.
