In the tutorial I saw it said "straps" (plural) but you are right it only shows a strap on one side. It has to have 2 or it will not hang right. Also I add long enough straps (in purses not bags) to go across my head to the opposite shoulder and it stays put and eases my neck and frees my hands. I make them all that way. :o)
