Take a batt scrap a little wider and longer then you want and lay a piece of fabric right side up on top.[ATTACH=CONFIG]568552[/ATTACH]

Lay your second fabric [ATTACH=CONFIG]568553[/ATTACH] scrap face down on the first and sew the 1/4 inch seam through the fabrics and the batt.

Flip the second fabric out and sew the third in the row[ATTACH=CONFIG]568554[/ATTACH]

[ATTACH=CONFIG]568556[/ATTACH]Use your rotary cutter and ruler to trim the edges straight and you are ready to sew the batt sections together with 1 inch sashing.

I recently saw this on someone's blog. I thought they would work great in snap bags but love your potholder idea too!
