When I posted my Wings Block tutorial I showed how to cut swatches without measuring to use in the process of making the Wings Block.

Here I am posting templates you can copy off and cut out in place of using the swatch method of cutting.

When you follow the steps of making the Wings you can use these templates instead of cutting swatches.

You will still follow the rest of the steps in the Wings Tutorial.

So after you save and print these templates you will need to cut them out of course. When you use them to cut out the fabric you will need to flip each one over and cut out a mirror image of each half.

Then continue on to sew the sections into 2 halves and then the 2 halves into a whole square. Now lay your 2 1/2" template on the square and match the template corners to the seams and cut out the final Wings Block.

If you want to see the steps with pictures here is the link to my original Wings Block Tutorial
http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-60682-1.htm

You won't need the scored templates if you use these templates.

And here is the PDF for you to download and print off the templates. Remember you will need to cut out mirror images of each piece. You can get template plastic and trace off your templates onto plastic. That will last longer than paper or cardboard.

I prefer the original but I have had a lot of people tell me they don't like the "waste". I see it as leftovers I reuse but many don't. So this is my answer for those who prefer to have an exact measurement.

Thank you Rhonda, I think I will try this today, using the templets like paper piecing.
