Default $5 Well Spent

I found this extension table for my old Black Singers on CL for $5. My DH had to drive about 70 miles round trip to pick it up but the table is beautiful and well worth the trip. It has a nice shiny finish on it. I just love it. The lady I purchased it from said she helps a friend clean out estate sale houses and she just sold 20 old sewing machines to a gentleman that lives in the country and he was going to make tractors out of them. I thought, oh my, how sad.

Sew awesome!

I may have to build myself one of those.

My sewing desk is a standard office desk. No lap drawer. If I cut a drop in, I'd bank my knees on it. Ouchie. (36" inseam)

Cute QIP, too. I think I have that red somewhere around here...

Wow! The extension table is really in good shape. You will love it. Thanks for taking the pictures of it. I am sure some of the gals who know someone who does wood work will soon have them building one.

Wow! You totally scored! That looks very well made.

I wonder what sort of awesome machines she might have sent to the tractor guy, though. Darn!
