Default Necchi desk question

I was trying to behave the other day, and not pick up another sewing machine... but admittedly while I currently only have Singers in seeing the Necchi I did and for the price... well it's still calling my name. lol

Anyways, biggest deterrent for me was the desk -- which was pretty, but super short. I was wondering if anyone knows if Necchi produced child sized desks for their full size machines at all, or if this was possibly custom? Sorry, I don't have pictures -- but if I get back down to the thrift store I saw it in and it's there, I will be taking pictures to share here. I believe the machine in question was a Necchi BU Nova, but can't guarantee that.

I'm short, literally I don't even reach 5'2", but while I was checking the machine out I was squatting down with my butt basically on my heels -- and my knees were not even 2" from the top of the chair opening on the desk. It appeared to have some carved molding around the opening, and looked to be in an oak or walnut finish. Just the size that really threw me off, b/c for me to say something is too small -- that hardly ever happens! lol

Thanks so much for any help y'all may be able to shed on this mystery!

2 comments. If you do get the desk, you could put things under the legs to bring up to a better heigh, or some cabinets have easily replaceable legs.

Second. Necchis are built to very close tolerances. Expect to spend a lot of time with an oil can and a hair dryer It may not free up in the first day or two.

( oK 3) Check the cords carefully, too.

Hopefully, you will be able to get a picture. Does the front swing out? Is the cabinet top the same height with just the opening smaller? Is it like an old treadle cabinet without legs or irons?

How to post pictures changed earlier this year.

We like pictures. In order to post pictures on Quilting Board, you will probably need to reduce or compress the picture to a file size that is smaller than 2MB. How to post images can be found at https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...020-01-17-.pdf
Don't forget to scroll over to the far right to find and click on the "Upload" button.

I have found that only the big red "Reply" button or "Quote" work to give me the paper clip icon to work for adding pictures.

Some additional info regarding reducing images at post #4 and images for the scroll and upload button can be found at #5 of quilt block ID?

OurWorkBench, pretty certain that's exactly how I loaded pictures earlier on with reducing size etc. Thankfully, I have Irfanview which can do that pretty easily. Only issue in pictures, it's nearly an hour away from me and I'm not chancing going out unnecessarily today with all of the unrest.

Now in regards to specifics about the desk, the front does not swing out. The opening for the seat is on the left when facing the desk, and there are drawers to the right. There is a carved molding around the seat opening. The top appeared to open and close like most every other sewing desk. The only thing that seemed so odd was the height. I do have veneer work under my belt, so if I do pick it up and add some legs to give it some needed height, we'll see if veneer or stain comes into play.

Unfortunately, this isn't going to happen as I cannot get the thrift shop to answer the simple question as to whether or not the machine is still there. As mentioned, it's an hour away and I just can't justify going down there if it's not.

Can you offer to buy it with plastic then make the trip after the deal is done? You may need to ask for a manager.
