Minor correction. 50,000 of them were ordered to be built on May 26th 1952. The production run lasted until the next listing of that model at that factory. Although looking up the AK series there is not a listing that I see after the May 26th of 1952

I was gifted a black heavy Singer last week. It is working and has a nice stitch. I just wonder if it is a 15 91 or what? The sn shows it was born in 1952. I have a MW 15 clone that is capable to lower feed dogs via a nob on bed but this Singer has no nob to lower feed dogs, does that mean it isnt a 15?
If you ever need to crack open the motor on a potted 15-91 check out this video tutorial http://vssmb.blogspot.com/2012/01/co...ted-motor.html I found it very helpful when I opened up mine.

Thanks, the feed dogs dont lower very much, so I'll get some oil on it there. Pieced a little yesterday and it sewed like a champ. So happy my DIL saved it from being thrown out and brought Lily to me!
