I have a F&R a little newer than this one (beautiful and a great price BTW) they use the same feet, needles, and shuttle that the Singer 12 does. Pretty common.

They sew better than most any modern machines. These were made when they still did the "extra tug" in the stitch formation process. This was done to replicate a seamstress sewing by hand a tugging the stitch tight each time. It turned out to be one of the first places that cost cutting hit and it went away on most all machines by the end of WWI
