Default 222K Featherweight and 221K cream in color

I just have to tell someone of my great fortune, I went into a local sewing machine shop looking for a long shank darning foot. They didn't have the one that I needed, as I was leaving I saw a beautiful 222K sitting in a display case and commented how lucky he was to have that one, he said, I've had that for over 20 years or more. He then showed me the cream colored 221K. Me being a Singer lover I fell in love. We talked for a while and pretty soon he asked me if I wanted to buy them, I told him, that I could not afford to purchase either one. He called me the next day and offered the 222K to me for $1,000, and if I wanted that one, he would give me the other for free. If I had false teeth, I would have choked to death. Yes I managed to get the money and hot footed my way over there. I think I made a good deal. Thank you for listening!

Wow, you are very lucky you could afford his price. I had an opportunity to buy a white lightweight Singer in the late 80s for $250 and I couldn't afford it.

Congrats! That was a great deal!

Goes to show, never hurts to ask if you see a machine sitting on display in a store. I've picked up a few "store decorations" that fit my collection that way.
