Any chance anyone can tell me what this is from this photo? It's on Craigslist locally. The other photo of it is of the cabinet, so this is the best he has at this time.

I'm looking to buy several reliable, inexpensive, easy to operate and maintain machines, so I'm looking everywhere.

It's a Singer. Perhaps a 306.

If it's a 3/4 size machine it could be a 185, we have to take a look at the front of the machine too ;- )

It sure looks like a 185 - based on the shape of the head.

on a full size machine, the head is longer towards the needle end. Also, when you compare the size of the motor and light to the machine, you can tell it's not full size.

I did not know that a 185 would fit in a cabinet. You'd think it would be too small/short. He's supposed to send me a photo of the front, but hasn't. I don't think he'll sell it based on the photo. The one on Craigslist just shows the back of the closed cabinet.

Thanks so much for you help.

Singer made special cabinets for their 3/4 machines. It's nice to have one!

I also think any model in the 300 series have differently shaped body, and it shows particularly well from behind; the whole body part from presser foot tension screw to the presser bar lever is very much a 185. My guess is still it's a 185 ;- )

The light also looks like a 185.
