Smile Antique Sewing Machines.........

Hi, I am so excited I just received my 1948 Singer Featherweight. Is there anyone who has one of these. I got numerous attachments etc. I can't wait to use it and would love to hear from people who use featherweights.

Ah, so you've joined the Featherweight club! I have 3, and enjoy them immensely. They are really handy for taking to classes, or traveling, or if you just need something that doesn't take up a lot of room. They stitch beautifully too.

My first featherweight is a 1947 and my next is 1950's... don't remember the exact year. I use my '47 all the time.... it does such nice stitches and I love to hear the 'click, click, click' as she sews. The scroll faceplate is so pretty and I leave it out all the time. ... and like so many others have said, it is light and easy to take with you for a class or just to sew with your buddies group. You're going to love yours, too. I'm so happy for you.

Love my FW, you will enjoy yours. There is nothing quite like the sound of the soft little click, click, click sound the bobbin makes as it sews the perfect stitch. Mine is a '38 model.

There is a Featherweight Club thread here in this category. Everyone there has at least one, and some have many!! They are very popular with quilters.
