Default Viking Husqvarna maybe maybe not!

Greetings, new comer to the forum so I will try to behave 😉 . I recently found what appears to be a Viking sewing machine. It is marked as a "Futurmatic" there is no model number or any other identification that I can see other than on the back side of machine it says " meister-werke gmbh schweinfurt". I have searched high and low to find information on it as well as a user manual. It seems that it may be a Husqvarna possibly. It seems to work in as much as I have sort of figured out. I have had no luck finding anything not even a picture of it. I can't figure out how to attach pics but have some if someone wants me to send them to them or if someone can give me a a little bit of instruction on attaching a picture I will upload them.

Thanks in advance!!

I believe what you have there is a Meister. I'm not really familiar with them, except my daughter has one that was passed down from her great grand mother. It's not really a bad machine. If I had to I'd sew on a Meister, no problem. I'm not familiar with the different models so know zero about Futurmatic, nor could I find pics.

Welcome. We like pictures. In order to post pictures on Quilting Board, you will probably need to reduce or compress the picture to a file size that is smaller than 2MB. How to post images can be found at https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...020-01-17-.pdf
Don't forget to scroll over to the far right to find and click on the "Upload" button.

Also, the app for adding photos comes up in a reduced sized window. I you'll make the window full size, it's easier to see how to add photos

Thanks for the info. I managed to upload some pics this time. What I am hoping to find out is what the different settings are. Thank for your help!

I'm guessing as I couldn't find a similar Viking or Meister manual. The dial on the right with the lever is the stitch length knob. I think the lever on the outside of that knob would be for reverse. The knob on the arm are for various stitches. It probably has two and maybe three knobs that can be turned. Singer 401 has two knobs in one (have to pull or push depending on which one you want to turn). The Pfaff 1222 has a dual knob also. It may be more like your Meister. There is a possibility that there is some additional information on the underside or back of the machine. It may have a model number and information about the motor. I found https://i.servimg.com/u/f16/19/68/90/31/img_4111.jpg that looks like your knob. I think the center moves the red square thing around (ETA- just looked again and probably the outside moves the red box). I believe A B C D are for the buttonhole. E is probably for regular ZZ. The other two are probably for the inner brown or white stitches. I think the white ring of stitches are for stretch type stitches that go forward and back. The brown ring stitches are forward motion without any backward stitching.

From my understanding Meister was bought out by Viking in about 1980. And probably has plastic gears that quite probably are cracked. I forget to get the link that Bill Holman spoke of the Meister/Viking connection.

The image I linked to above was from a French VSM forum, I think. But it appears that the person posting had some other issues with said machine based on some of the other pictures in the thread. http://lamachineacoudre.forumactif.o...r-multimatic-2

Default Thanks!

Thank you for all of your replies and information! The pics that were provided to me look almost identical to what I see on mine. I haven't torn it apart to check condition of the gears yet but did clean it out pretty thoroughly. It seems to be working fine andaand problems are most likely operator error 😉 I did check out the site that has the manuals in german specifically for the 276. I am working on translation now and think it will provide me with ample information.

Thanks to everyone for helping me out!
