Default auromatic needle threader for vintage Singers

Anyone know anything about an Automatic Needle Threader for Vintage Singers, a gadget you can purchase? "A vintage sewer with vintage eyes, aka eyes don't see as well as they used to.

Thanks, Libber

I have a threader that came with my 201K, it's numbered Simanco 121632. I've seen a few different vintage Singer threaders, but so far nothing that fits on the needle bar. They are quite a lot of them on fleabay and the web in general. I think most of the brands had some type of hand held device to make it easier. My best trick is lots of light, a pair of sharp scissors near by to snap of the end of the thread, and a visit to the optician when it get too bad.

I have been using the Dritz Machine Needle Inserter and Threader which works fairly well once I got the hang of it. There may be better ones out there that someone else can recommend.

I've never 'needed' a needle threaded. I had a plastic wonder with one but only lasted a little while.

I just use the cheapie clover wire threaders and bend the wire for my machines. My Viking has an 'automatic' threader which sometimes works and sometimes not. Just easier for me not to fight with any of them by using the wire threader.

Hi, I am having trouble threading needles also, but have found using the wire or plastice threader loops like used to thread sergers work. There are variations in thickness so need to watch fot that. Hope this helps,

Just for laughs, I dug one out and failed to make the thread go in the needle.

Although I have several of the plastic Kenmore style needle threaders, some of the little round metal tabs with the thin wire sticking out of them and maybe a couple Singer ones, "I'M the vintage Singer Needle Threader" around here. Held that title for as long as I can remember. I used to thread my mom's sewing machine needles for her cos she was far sighted and just couldn't see the hole in the needle.

Now as I'm aging, becoming youth challenged as it were, I have to use reading glasses (cheeters) to see the hole, but I'm still doing it.
