Default Clayton Sewing Machines

I picked up a Clayton antique sewing machine with treadle (came with a coffin box cover) at an antique mall this weekend. I have been searching endlessly with no luck online to find out any kind of information about them. Does anyone know anything about those machines and the approximate value? I will add a photo soon.

Picture is best but according to ismac's needle list, http://www.ismacs.net/needle_and_sha...eedle-list.pdf, it was made by National. The needle list is not always accurate though.

It has a tag on it that says John M. Smyth. It has a gold star on the tag.

Thank you guys so much for helping me. I will take pictures when I get home. I am hoping this is a rare find, the serial number is in the 100,000 range.

Here's an ad for John Smyth of Chicago mentioning Clayton sewing machine. Common for chain store's to have a "badged" or stenciled brand sewing machine they sold back in the day. Value is most likely in beholders eye or perhaps someone named Clayton will pay a premium. Good Luck.

Thank you! I will still post a picture for you to see. It works like a champ. I bought it for my moms Christmas gift this year.

Here is an up close photo of the John. M. Smyth seal. It's a little blurry, but it's the best pic I could get.
