Default Bernina 930 feed dogs

I picked up a Bernina 930 Record for a song this weekend. But...it is missing the feed dogs. I've been able to find replacement parts all over NJ to make her whole, but I was hoping someone had the feed dogs for it...very hard to find. PM me if you have one.

Missing the feed dogs!? How goofy is that? I wish you lot of good fortune putting this good machine back in service. I can't help with the feed dogs though.

It's a long story. I got the machine from a person who dropped the bobbin into the machine and it was rattling. He brought it to two repair shops who screwed it up. It was such an easy repair it wasn't funny. I have the guy returning to the shop to try to retrieve the missing parts. I asked him for the number of the shop, and it he gives it to me, they are going to hear very unpleasant remarks from me. I will definitely get it running. It's just so disrespectful to treat this machine like a Kmart Special...

Check out e-bay. You can usually find just about anything there.

Good luck!! I LOVE my 930 and it sits right next to my 630E, ready to take over whenever I need. A real workhorse!

There are two Yahoo Bernina groups for the vintage machines:

BerninaThirtySomethings (this is the most active)

bonosberninas

There are a couple of techs that are on it regular. They are quite often able to source parts for people who need them.

I have two Bernina 930s at my house, one is mine the other is my daughter's. Its truly sad that any repair shop should treat such a wonderful machine this way.

I have been working on it. They lost/broke the small metal pieces that mesh with the microswitches, so I had to manufacture the pieces...they are tiny and interface it with the housing. I broke down and ordered the feed dog but I am skeptical that I will get it...one place said yes, then no. I am stubborn so I'll get it. After that I need a small spring, and spoke to a bernina tech who said I could have one. Then it should be up and running.... I'll also need to get the knee bar but it will cost a fraction of the Ebay prices. Yes, I have tried to yahoo groups...no luck.

Singers are so much easier to get parts for.
