Today I happened to see an ad for a singer featherweight...I got a great deal on it...now I have to pick it up... in Ottawa as I live in Toronto..about 5 hours away from me...I couldn't pass it up...(what we will do for a featherweight???)

the gentleman was very kind and said he would ship it to me if I can't find anyone to get it for me...I have a friend who visits her son there so I am hoping I can get it through her...the seller also emailed me back and said that some of the bus companies also ship packages, although I have not heard of this...but I am pretty excited to find it...

While we were in Texas waiting for a transmission to be shipped to us by Greyhound bus we found and purchased my FW! You sure can send things by bus. The tranny was dropped ito a huge rubbermaid tub, but I wouldn't advise doing that with the FW ;-)

Yes they can coach it down from Ottawa for you. Though I wouldn't want to risk the potential loss and damage to your new baby!

It's worth the drive to Ottawa ... besides think of all the fabric stores you could find between here and there!! :)

I purchased a FW off EBAY and I am still waiting for it to get here. He got his money into his acct on May 3rd. It was supposed to ship between May 9 and May 20. Must have been going to send snail mail even tho he charged $30 for shipping. Could have UPS it for that money and would have gotten in three days. I hope it isn't one of those fly by night guys cause he got his money, but EBAY has a good policy if something is wrong with a seller.
