Some of my sergers that bear the pfaff name have Calanda on the tag that contains the serial number, a dealer once told me that it was because Pfaff at some point started farming out some of their machine/serger construction to a couple of Japanese companies and that Identifys the factory where they came from. Some were good (Calander) and the others not so good.
