Default Can someone help me ID this thingy?

My wifie found this in some box somewhere. Neither of us know what it is, yet it is familiar.

I know! I know!!!

It is a clear plastic rule, made in Taiwan, and they used a special process whereby they printed everything in reverse!!!

Thanks for showing that black thneed next to it for context. That helped my guess.

Do I win?

;-)

Of course I was just being a prat, Joe. Forgive me. ;-) I could not resist.

I am really not sure, but I think those things are used to stuff into collars and sleeves and such, when turning them right-side-out after sewing, in order to really get into every corner and get the shape of the garment right?

Cecilia,

I enjoy the humor, but I really have no idea what that thing is.

I'm not certain, but it looks like a sewing tool I'd use for pushing out points of corners and to help turn curved edges.

Joe, in my first post I was just being silly, but in the second one, I was trying to describe what Candace just described; only she did a better job of describing it. Does it make sense now?

If you've just sewn something and then you go to turn it right side out; if the thing you sewed was big, as in a pillowcase, you just use your hands and fingers to poke the corners out to their shape. However, if the thing you sewed is small, such as a teddy bear or doll's clothing, then you need something smaller to get into the small corners and such, to shape the garment or item.

So, I am pretty sure that is what the tool is used for, but I do not know if it has a proper name.

Miriam seems quite good at making up names for things, though. Miriam?

Sew then you are calling it a corner poker outer? Sounds reasonable.
