Looks like National. John M Smyth was a furniture chain until recently.

For what this info is worth: As best that I could see, that Colliers Magazine was from 1903 that had the ad in it. My parents were married in Chicago in 1936 and purchased a dining room set from a Smyth Furniture Company. If I remember correctly what my mother told me it was John Smyth who owned the store or for whom the store was named. That makes me believe that this may have been "badged" as suggested below. I do remember both parents saying that the furniture company had been in business for a long time (both of my parents were born in Chi and probably grew up hearing the name of the company.)
