Default Collection now up to 24

Hello all,

Well this week I added 2 more machines to my collection. A 1961 #328K from e-bay and a 1937 #127 from my son. The 328K was nice as seen on e-bay, but, when I saw the USPS package I knew there would be damaged. First off the machine was shipped inside the plastic case on it's side, why I don't know. There was no markings such as "this side up", "fragile" etc. Upon inspection the box looked as if USPS played soccer with it. Once opened, naturally the plastic carry case was history. The machine prior to shipping looked as if it had little use. The finish is probably the best out the box that I have. The color is kinda beige with the cast body having a slight hammer tone finish, with the stamped steel parts without hammer tone. The pressure foot shaft was bent at the foot and one of the nylon spool pins was broken with the other one bent out of wack. All is repairable and a complete cleaning/oiling was in order. It seems that someone attempted to dissemble the thread tension knob and the timing marks on the needle bar were off. Since all screws were tight, I figured someone monkeyed with it. All in all, I think it will be a good addition and the only thing I will try to acquire would be the flat cams. It did come with the zig-zag cam and would probably be the only other stitch I would use on this machine.

The 127 was headed for the dump when my son saw it and said that I collected machines, could he have it. It is in rough shape and could be a summertime project or just for parts. Attached are a few pics of the 328K. Chow for now.

Nice machine. I want to see the 27, too. Some time we should do a photo shoot to see who can come up with the ugliest working 27...

I can only imagine the horror when you saw the box! The machine looks to have survived well. At least it is all fixable.

Too bad the case didn't survive. Nice looking machine other than that.
I want to see the 27 too.

Yeah.. Ebay sellers without much SM experience have sent me plenty of bad examples. I try to send them lunks to pkg tips and photos but often theyre already shipped. They want exc feedback, without thinking how how well u pack is more important than how fast you get it. Obviously there are good ones who know, they will charge more usualy.

Glad all the problems are fixable. That's why I am afraid to buy one that has to be shipped.
