Default Compac Electric Sewing Machine

Hi! Just wondering if anyone has, or has heard of, the Compac Electric Sewing Machine. I can't seem to find a website on them.
Thanks!

I had a Compac computer....oh, I think that was Compaq...but I did a search for Compac sewing machine and a few things came up suggesting it was a Japanese clone.

This was from Yahoo Answers, "There were scads of machines made in Japan and sold under a great variety of names in that period ("badged machines"). Many of them were copies of the Singer 15, so without knowing more about your machine, I'd suggest trying that threading sequence:
http://www.singerco.com/accessories/inst… -- put 15 in the search box and take the free download of the treadle diagram (yeah, I know yours is likely not a treadle, but the power source is irrelevant here.)

Here's what a Singer 15 looks like:

Otherwise, would you please put up some clear photos of your machine showing the front, the side of the machine nearest the needle and the bobbin and bobbin case? We can work out the threading from those if you give us the URLs."

Thank you both for your quick answers. I actually have the instruction manual so I know how to thread it. I was just wondering if anyone has ever owned one and what they thought of it. Candace, did you like yours? I'll put up pics in the morning.

No, I sent it back. I'm sure the machine was fine in its early life, but the seller was a bonehead and sold me a working, in great condition machine, and it arrived as a piece of junk.

My Compac is awesome. Very quiet and makes a perfect straight stitch. Beautiful turquoise color and shiny as a new penny. I hope you like yours as well as I do mine.

Sorry, but I can't seem to figure out how to add a picture of my Compac. It's sleek, shiny, and black. I test drove it in the store, today I plan on sewing on it at home It was originally purchased on 9-25-1951 in downstate Flint, MI. If anyone can help me upload the pics, I'd be more than happy to show it off.

I have one. I haven't had it very long. Here is the link to what I posted about it on the QB. http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...c-t191513.html
I really like it. It sews really nicely and is pretty quiet compared to my other machines. I haven't found a website on them but I do know it was made by Brother. Is it similar to the machine you have or are looking at? I have a manual with it f you have questions. Maybe I can help.
