Default Couldn't pass up an Essex

Hubby and I went to look at some radio controlled planes and the guy had an Essex miniature sewing machine. At $5 CAD, I could not pass it up. It even came with the original owner's manual and a couple of spare parts. At least, I hope they are spares.

These machines were not sold as toys or decorative machinery. They were (are) working chain stitch sewing machines. Cool. Now I just need to find a place in the house to feature the machine.

The machine looks like there are all the bare necessities. Great shape too!

I thought it was a great find, too. Wondered how to use it and it is a simple hand crank. Duh!

We DID buy one plane but I got this, as well as some 1950's brooches and a couple of vintage necklaces. Plus, a Duncan Phyfe side table. I did very well for an rc sale.

I'm hoping to test the sewing machine this weekend. I know it turns well but not sure if it actually sews. Not that I really care.

I'd be disappointed in you, if you had not nabbed this one, when you could!

Bet you are glad you were with MrW4Me .... so you could score!

SteveH - until a couple of collector cars leave the garage, the rc stuff takes over the living room. He's trying to catch up to my fabric stash.

QuiltE - better yet. He paid.
