There are a of guys learning to sew these days. I think they are looking at how an old vintage machine is made then they want to use it. A lot of women only look at what a machine will do. A lot of guys are starting small businesses or making things for their own use.

here is a very popular animated GIF of how it works. not magic, timing... it's all about the timing.

it is not quite correct but it shows the concept well.

here is a more accurite non-animated diag

It's not magic, just timing like Steve said. But if you don't think the bobbin hook is like a second needle, then you need to look at the scar on my left trigger finger ......

Steve gonna check out those videos.

Oh, .

That is an incredibly beautiful machine.

Also Joe's sewing samples are nifty!

I really like those juke-box-like machines.

-Cecilia, too busy to be contributing much (Just ask Vinnie, who is gathering dust now, half-done!) but hopes soon to be tinkering again and meanwhile enjoys ogling the board photos now and then... :-)

She is beautiful, my favorite color. She does better decorative stitching than my Bernina 1530 can do.
