Diet Coke and rust
I had a zipper foot from a bag of attachments from a garage sale that slides from side to side but was rusted stuck. I soaked it overnight in some Diet Coke and this a.m. it moved freely and I was able to wipe the rust off. It is also much more shiny. I guess I could take a lesson and keep it out of my stomach.

When I was a kid I remember my dad stopping at a gas station to get coke to pour on the windshield. I guess there wasn't a sprayer that worked with the wiper at that time. (Am I old or what?) I just remember being amazed at how the coke cleared off the road film when on a long trip. And I also remember dissolving a wishbone in coke....or was that vinegar. Yup, coke is some powerful stuff.

try it. what do you have to loose? Its phosphoric acid rather than whatever organic acid is in vinegar. (ascedic?) Just keep your eye on it for a few minutes. see if it bubbles and stir it around in a glass container.
